Engineering Technician I- First Shift (818660)

Inginaire is seeking an Engineering Technician I for our client in Bloomington, MN. In this position you will be given the opportunity to conduct standard and non-standard testing on current and experimental products. Good judgement is required to resolve problems and make recommendations for resolving. You will apply job skills, test procedures and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks. The ideal candidate has load frame testing experience (MTS & Instron) and previous technician experience. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity. Only local candidates will be considered, as this role is fully on site at the Bloomington, MN campus!
Duties
- Participate in the development of new technology, new products or modifications to existing products to meet technical requirements within time and cost constraints.
- Consult with the test requestor to determine appropriate testing methods and understand desired outcomes for standard or non-standard products.
- Set – up and conduct performance tests, without supervision, using established standardized formats and procedures in order to identify performance ratings.
- Must adapt procedures, process, tools equipment and techniques to meet the more complex testing requirements without the help or supervision from others.
- Prepare accurate test data for interpretation and analysis.
- Appropriately and correctly identify test equipment issues and communicate a plan to resolve to other technicians and/or supervisors.
- Assist with equipment calibration and perform complex test bench maintenance under supervision.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency of testing.
- Keep lab manager informed of testing activity/challenges on an ongoing basis.
- Performs operational lab duties as apparent or as assigned.
- Effectively meet established deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Associates Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Load Frame Testing is highly desired (priority will go to candidates with load frame experience, especially MTS and Instron)
- Previous experience as a technician or related field preferred
- Working knowledge of test equipment and test standards
- Proficient computer literacy skills (MS Office)
- Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to understand cause & effect relationships within automated control systems
- Fundamental understanding of measurement & control systems and calibration practices
- Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and take direction from supervisors and team members
- Ability to communicate concisely and accurately to individuals and small groups. Able to adapt material for intended audiences
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and completeness of data, reports, records, etc.
- Good organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to recognize the importance of common goals and working with others to achieve them
- Professional conduct at all times
Schedule
First Shift: Monday - Friday; 7am-3:30pm
