Sr. Electrical Engineer

St. Paul, MN

Inginaire is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer for their client in St. Paul, MN. Their client is looking for a team member to provide engineering analysis, project planning, and project management for development, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of energy and utility systems. This role will also provide technical support to a wide range of energy projects for existing energy production facilities and distribution systems, and consulting services for developing, new and existing systems. This is a Direct Hire position.
  • Provide comprehensive Program Management services to their clients.
  • Lead multiple diverse project teams in the development of objectives, scope, budget, and schedule for systems operated and managed by the client, as applicable.
  • Lead multiple diverse project teams in the design, construction, commissioning, testing, and startup of energy and utility projects to meet the project objectives and scope as defined by the the client's Operations and Management Group.
  • Provide engineering, inspection, quality control, project management, and contract management services on projects for systems operated and managed by the client.
  • Lead studies, analyses, design, implementation and engineering management activities for new and existing client development projects while achieving defined project goals.
  • Negotiate contracts with prospective clients and maintain full P&L responsibility for managed projects.
  • Provide certain business development and management functions as may be needed and identified on specific project assignments.
  • Act as a technical liaison for public and client interactions as necessary.
  • Prepare proposals and presentations to existing customers and potential clients as part of obtaining new business.
  • Investigate and study new technologies that may be effectively applied to district energy systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, sustainability and cost effectiveness.
  • Lead certain designated projects through periodic system shutdowns or outages as requested by the the client's Operations and Management Group.
  • Respond to utility system customer requests for systems operated and managed by the client.
    Minimum requirements to be successful in this role:
  • The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program and be currently eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Experience with construction and project management.
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience and demonstrated success with energy and utility projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, municipal authorities, and customers relative to contracts and utility service requirements.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, records and report management.
  • Registered professional engineer.
  • A solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and have outstanding leadership, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Must be a self-starter who likes to work on a variety of project assignments.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
  • Extensive computer experience including CAD, database, and spreadsheet use.
  • Experience with mechanical process and building HVAC systems.
