Applications Engineer II

Inginaire is seeking an Applications Engineer II at our client in Bloomington, MN. In this position you will build strong customer relationships as you develop, design, and release to production diesel engine filtration systems that meet OEM requirements. Our client possesses great industry breadth and has a diverse portfolio of products. This allows vast opportunity for career development and growth as you gain engineering experience. In this role you will work on products which will be applied to diesel engine fluid systems, specifically fuel injection, lubrication, and coolant applications. This position is a contract opportunity, for up to 12 to 18 months, with the possibility of being hired on full-time at that time.

Duties

  • Serving as the technical expert for liquid filtration products and technologies to support sales during the pre-award phase of a project
  • Interacting directly with customers to present Donaldson technology, products, and concepts to meet specified requirements
  • Developing concept designs and validating filtration systems and products to meet specified requirements
  • Working closely with manufacturing personnel to ensure optimum manufacturability of products during the design phase and validating that production ready product meets design requirements
  • Ensuring engineering drawing packages and data are accurate and releasing drawings to be controlled
  • Preparing and presenting technical information, test plans, and test reports to both internal and external personnel
  • Utilizing experience and technical skills to support and provide guidance to junior engineers when appropriate
  • Traveling up to 10% of the time
  • Possessing a combination of skills and experience in multiple areas including engineering, product development, manufacturing methods, and program leadership
  • Having the strong interpersonnel and communication skills necessary to interact with technical counterparts and customers at a high level

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum 3 years related professional engineering experience
  • Preference given for experience in developing products to meet requirements of OEM’s in areas of fluid handling, filtration, or diesel engines
  • Proven communication and interpersonnel skills
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and project management skills in a cross functional environment
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, experience in part and assembly design, GD&T, tolerance stack up, and analyzing and interpreting FEA and CFD numerical analysis results
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Knowledge of DFSS and Lean Practices
  • Ability to travel 5-10%
