Engineering Technician

Bloomington, MN

Inginaire is seeking an Engineering Technician for a large company in the Bloomington area. This company is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of filtration products. This company services the Aerospace, Agriculture, Automotive, Biotechnology and Defense industries. This is a long-term contract position.

Duties

  • Participate in the development of new technology, new products or modifications to existing products to meet technical requirements within time and cost constraints.
  • Consult with the test requestor and/or lab manager to determine appropriate testing methods and understand desired outcomes for standard products.
  • Set up and conduct performance tests, without supervision, using established standardized formats and procedures in order to identify performance ratings.
  • May adapt procedures, process, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the more complex testing requirements with the help and supervision of others.
  • Prepare accurate test data for interpretation and analysis.
  • Appropriately identify test equipment issues and communicate them to more senior level technicians or supervisors.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency of testing.
  • Assist with equipment calibration and perform basic test bench maintenance under supervision.
  • Keep lab manager informed of testing activity/challenges on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs operational lab duties as apparent or as assigned.
  • Effectively meet established deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience as a test technician or related mechanical field
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic equipment and test standards preferred
  • Proficient computer literacy skills (MS Office)
  • Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and take direction from supervisors and team members
  • Ability to communicate concisely and accurately to individuals and small groups
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and completeness of data, reports, records, etc.
  • Ability to define a problem and make quality decisions based on analysis, experience and sound judgment
  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to recognize the importance of common goals and working with others to achieve them
  • Professional conduct at all times

Schedule

2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday 2pm - 10:30pm, Friday 10am - 6:30pm
